The Sunken Box

An entry to the EDGE Affordable Housing Challenge. The Sunken Box is a compact court house that uses a green-screen carport, cross-ventilation and shaded openings to stay cool passively — keeping running costs and embodied carbon low.

The plan is deliberately simple and buildable on a tight budget, so the climate strategy does the heavy lifting rather than expensive systems.
